Today I will be introducing you all to a program that you might not have heard about, this program is called ImgBurn. Some of you might be familiar with DVD Decrypter, supposing you are, this program is from the same programmer, only difference is that the DVD Decrypting stuff has been removed and a really excellent burning program remains.

If you have ever searched around to find a program to burn some sort of image file such as BIN, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, ISO, MDS, NRG or PDI you know that it can be a hassle. Burning an image or any other file becomes more of a problem when you are using a computer that does not have Nero or some other commercially accepted burning solution installed. Let us also face the facts that the Windows burning utility just does not provide any options for burning anything other than just plain files.

So, some people out there still don't know what a torrent file is or what it is to do with that file. I am writing this to help out the few that are unaware of what a torrent is, what BitTorrent is, or what to do with the files you grab in the meantime.

BitTorrent the protocol was developed in 2001 by Bram Cohen as Python code. At the time he had rounded up free pornography to lure beta testers to use the software. Had he not, the protocol probably would not have taken off the way it had.

What makes bittorrent so efficient for large transfers is that paired with the error checking, the mechanism to make sure the file is correct, it uses a distribution of different peers, seeders, and leachers to download the files from. Using this distributed or mesh network makes for high reliability, high redundancy, and high speed transfers.

How the protocol works by the use of a torrent file and within that file you will find all sorts of information about the files being shared such as the size, tracker, the chunk size, along with a stored SSH-1 hash that will verify the correct unaltered file has reached the destination machine.

There comes a time when you need to reinstall Windows after it has reached it's half life and no longer wants to work properly. Do not be dismayed it is an inevitable thing that happens and chances are we will all have to do it time and time again into the future as well.

Part of what slows us down with reinstalling is getting all our programs, drivers, and settings configured back to the way we like them, it can be a daunting task that can take hours to complete. For me it takes someplace around 3 months to get everything back to the way it was and typically I have to reinstall again once I get it back to that benchmark.
