State of the States

So here we sit in 2008 on the verge of a fiscal meltdown waiting for November 4th to come along and allow us to replace our president. An incompetent man that has no luster or skill at speaking or even that of making well informed decisions.

So what are we to do with everything that has been handed to us? Well I for one don’t think that this country is heading in the right direction, I feel that the presidential candidates are poorly picked and are only there because they knew how to play ball and not on their merits as people.

Some of the better presidential candidates where scoffed at with some of their views, but for what good reason. Just because some people in Washington don’t agree with someones views doesn’t make them a poor choice. The people that are in control of the nominations are dead wrong and are only toying with the inevitable collapse of the free world. This two party system isn’t working.

We as US residents must take a firm stand and make our own decisions for a change. Feeding this hypocrisy that we call democracy is not the answer. The machine has gotten too large and out of control. Not that I am an anarchist, nihilist, or any other form of ist.  I am just a person that has had it with the way that things are being done in this country and feel that the time for change is now.

What I would like to see is someone take the initiative to create universal health care for all, of course the rich can afford even better if they so choose, but I personally would like to know that if I get sick I can go to the doctor and not have to worry about that bill.

I would also like to see a mandatory work week maximum in this country, parts of Europe already have 35 to 36 hour work weeks so why can’t we? I like to get paid but at what cost? I don’t want to become a man that is a slave to the machine of capitalism getting pay that I could achieve someplace else with less stress and a better quality of life. I would like to afford the opportunity to get to actually know my children and get to spend time with them, allow them to develop around me instead of in the absence of me.

I would like to see a privatized Social Security Benefits system where you will only be allowed to get what you put in, this pay as you go system is not going to work for too much longer if the population declines while the life expectancy increases, even as I write this I know that there will be nothing left for me when I do go to retire at the ripe old age of 75 years old.

Well that’s enough for now, said what I wanted to…. so have a good day or something.

Some of the problems with this country happen to be what this country was based on that has since changed. First off income tax is unconstitutional, that we can not own tanks that actually can fire arms is unconstitutional, drugs are illegal, we can no longer purchase perscriptions from Canada, taxes on some imports are unbeivable.

My New Favorites

Yeah, I know it’s been awhile since I posted but hey, life happens. Caught up between going to lamaze, TF2, school, work, and all those other little side projects. I have however found a few of my more favorite things in the world, as follows.

  1. Money, well who doesn’t like it.
  2. Team Fortress 2 is pretty sweet too.
  3. Drinking Sam Adams Oktoberfest
  4. Going to the store to get coffee

Yeah welll that’s about all I got for right now so I don’t think it really matters. Maybe at some point I will write a real post?
