Okay, here we go again, I am writing again to tell you about the experience with DDRWT V24 RC6.2.
Again I am attempting to install and use DDWRT on my router and I will say that I am pleasantly surprised that it now works almost flawlessly with PPPOE using Verizon DSL. There are however some things that still need to be worked out, such as the blank white screen when updating settings. Although there are some small issues that need to be worked out DDWRT V24 has come a long way since it was first it’s it’s beta release. I must say that there are many new features that seem to be working rather well. I do like the bandwidth meter as it can help to see what is hogging all my bandwidth at any given moment and also has built in overclocking tools for the onboard CPU, although I personally will not be giving them a shot. I do see that it has come a long way and Mr. Brainslayer has worked very hard on this new release. Again I would like to extend my thanks to someone for taking this project and making it as good as they possibly can. Maybe sometime in the future I will get into my WRT54GS V6 and make it have some other storage.
From using the new firmware I can say that there are some issues with getting into the web administration panel, but it is still working and there are many features. I must say that it is a good upgrade path and I am finally happy that I can connect to Verizon DSL now. It has been months since I got a version that could connect with PPPOE so this is a nice surprise. Again for download information take a look over at the DDWRT website.
Thanks again to Brainslayer for all his hard work.
