what’s going on?
So this is my blog, I got it up and running with much SQL to learn before hand and I thought that it might be a good idea to add a post to my blog here.
The last week has been very trying on my patience as I have just completed my second semester at Broome Community College. I like the college but some of the instructors can be rather catty and a pain in the ass. I know that the amount of work I do is in direct relationship to the grade I get. I suppose that I am only referring to my math class 096 it’s the only math class at BCC that is a 5 credit math class, perhaps that is why I got a big old F on it.
Well I did get the rest of my grades and I am boasting a 3.18 overall GPA and a 3.58 for this semester. I am very happy that this semester I was able to get into the swing of things and get the things that I need to get done and accomplished done that quickly. Maybe because I don’t work… that might have given me the opportunity to get some extra work done.
Yesterday I went out to look for a job and have found the cold barren desert of jobs in Broome county, when I say that there is nothing I really mean that there is nothing here. I went to attempt to find a job in the IT industry which I am studying to become a network administrator, but I suppose by my appearance that people are not impressed. Maybe I should spend a few hundred dollars on a suit and tie and join the ranks of the working class suits. I want a job in the IT industry only for the experience really, I don’t care so much about $ I just want the opportunity to be able to prove myself to the workforce.
Well I think that it shows that I know something about computers when I can host my own web page, have FTP access, Samba, Mail, and a slew of other features that the normal person would have major issues trying to set up. Furthermore I also set up this entire server almost exclusively at the command line.
Recently I have found that finding a job that will give me the ability to gain experience might not be around the corner for me so I have started a small home business called Computer Guy. Well since I am a computer guy I thought that it would be a good place to start. I already have some fliers up and I have gotten a website working as well. All I need to do now is finish working on the business cards and I am ready to rock and roll.
I don’t really know where to put the flyer’s yet but I think that between Swizz, Joe, CK, and a few other people we can come up with some places that might put them up for me.
Well that’s all I have for today, I will come back and post in a few days to continue to get my piss and moan on.
One last thing, I set up a time to take the A+ exam and it will be within the next 60 days. 
I am pretty excited to get my first certification.
